K1D FR3SH is Confused March 31, 2009 11:31 PM
MySpace. The very network I log into each evening. My username is K1D FR3SH. A name most don’t understand yet has sentimental meaning to me. The first act: checking my messages and comments. Afterwards, I check bulletins my friends have posted. After this, I sign out, and get off the computer.
Online networks like MySpace take up much time. I see many of my fellow teens awake at 1:30 am. Whether these kids are viewing postings and blogs, or chatting with their friends, these children are spending a good amount of time on these sites. I feel MySpace and other online networks are a great way for people to communicate with one another. These online forums harm many individuals. These sites are preventing individuals from being active, doing schoolwork, or helping their parents. Many of my friends don’t do their homework, and get bad grades in their classes. When I go onto MySpace at ten at night, I see many of these very kids logged into these sites. These students could be working on their homework rather than talking to their friends.
I feel social networking is a great, free way for individuals to communicate with one another. I feel social networking has its positives and negatives, just like any other communication service. I recommend these networking services to all. I just recommend that parents put a limit to the accessibility.
